INAUGURATION

so i remember thinking that after watching the Inauguration, i thought Barack Obama is an outstanding speaker. Obama's inaugual speech addressed the many important issues facing our country today. his speech inspired many people and instilled hope in their lives. he gave Americans the confidence to believe that the challenges will be met although it may not be an easy road. he not only addressed the problems facing America, but also those around the world such as peace between countries and diverse lifestyles. Obama mentioned the importance of restoring the trust between the people and the government. hopefully he will keep to his word and bring about change for America.

DR. IGNACIO'S PRESENTATION

Dr. Ignacio's speech made me really understand that if one has the determination, they will be able to achieve their goals in life. It doesn't matter what others may say or how difficult it may seem, but as long as you strive, goals can be acheived. I think the most important lesson learned from her speech is to jump on every opportunity you get. In her case, she went into medical school not even knowing what orthopedic surgery was about. However, she kept focus and studied hard. Had she not done this, she might have not gotten the "match." When Dr. Ignacio talked about medical school, it made me think twice about whether or not I would want to have a profession in the medical field. After hearing about the hazing and sometimes sleepless days, I'm not too sure if I would like to experience that sort of thing haha. I'm glad I went to her presentation! :)
