MAGNETS!

in order to get into my building, we need this magnet thing called a fob haha. its this gray round thing that has a magnet inside- see the picture. i guess its good in terms of security cause then strangers cant really get inside. i remember when we first moved in i thought it was really cool. alrighty so now to the physics part of this. the magnet has two poles: north and south poles. in order for my magnet to be attracted to the door's magnet, the north pole must be placed near the south pole of the other. if the two poles are both north or both south, they will repell. the field around the magnets is the magnetic field.
