EXPOSED WIRES?!!

alrighty so apparently this man died wednesday near my place after he touched the metal street light while standing on this electrical junction box thing. so i thought about physics and how we are learning the electric charges. according to the city officials there was an exposed wire which may have unfortunately caused the man to be electrocuted. the exposed wire is a conductor because it allows the flow of electrons. i wonder if the electrons went through the man which is quite a scary thought. yeah so dont do those things at once, otherwise you might get electrocuted!!

STADIUM ECHOES

alrighty im actually reallyyy tired at the moment but i have to do this blog! for the past three days ive been in hilo for another dog show. and the only thing i remember that had something to do with physics was the sound of the stadium. when this man sang the national anthem, the sound was really echo-y. when he sang into the mic, there was a delay in the transfer of sound to the other end of the stadium. from where i stood, the words i heard did not match up directly with what i saw due to the traveling of sound waves. i didnt have my camera with me so i just googled the stadium and heres a picture of it. just minus the tennis courts :)

DOPPLER EFFECT!

this weekend, apparently there was a building close by whose fire alarm kept going off. it was so annoying and loud huhhhh. so as i sat in my room trying to do homework i heard the fire trucks coming and i thought PHYSICS! doppler effect :) i first heard the siren from a distance but it soon got closer and i could tell because the sound grew louder and the pitch higher. according to the doppler effect, as the sound source approaches the listener, the frequency of the sound waves increase causing the pitch to be higher. since the source is moving towards me, the listener, i can calculate the frequency perceived by me through the equation: fl=fs(1/(1-vs/v)) alrighty the end!

SPLASHING WATER

on saturday night my friends and i walked down waikiki. and theres this place where water shoots out from under the ground. theres like multiple holes in the ground and its lighted and pretty :) its actually kinda cool and i took a video of it. except i accidentally deleted it so a picture will have to do. i have no idea how this relates to physics but it kinda just made me think physics so here we go. i guess the way the water shot up and splashed back down reminded me of transverse waves or something. in transverse waves, particles move perpendicular to the direction the wave is travelling. these waves are different compared to longitudinal waves where the particles move parallel to the direction the wave travels. the end.
