DOGS IN MOTION

it seems that a lot of my posts have been related to dog shows. well, here's another one. my friend gave me some pictures and as i looked through them, i saw physics in motion! one is a shot taken as the black dog, Riddick, and i are running. due to friction, we are able to accelerate and move forward. if the ground were slippery such as ice, it would be nearly frictionless so we would basically walk in place. btw doc, we should go on a field trip to ICE PALACE! :)

another picture is with the brown dog, Slater. he is standing still which means that the forces acting on him are weight and normal. the force of his weight is equal and opposite to the normal force. so the free body diagram for the dog would be W=mg down and a vector equal in length but upwards for normal force.
